Adoption Questionnaire
A Dog is for life not just for Lockdown
Demand for dogs has shot up during lockdown as potential owners look to get a new furry friend, please think twice, are you ready for the commitment. Impulsive adoptions could result in a wave of abandoned pets later in the year.
Government Guidance
We are operating in line with Government guidance, only admitting dogs that we have the resources to care for. This means we have far fewer dogs in than normal. Rescues can remain open but can not have the public visiting site. Adoptions have to be undertaken in the following way.
How the adoption process works
- Look on our web site for dogs that are available for adoption. Please don’t visit the centre, you will be denied access.
- Consider the implications of dog ownership.
- Complete the online form, we will contact you.
- Our rehoming staff will ask you to do a video call so we can meet your family and see around your home.
- Arrangements will be made for you to meet the dog at your home.
- If the dog chooses you, we will move ahead with adoption.
Please consider the implications of ownership
- The cost of owning a pet includes many things not just food
- Boarding Kennels cost around £15 per night and require that your pets vaccinations are up to date
- Are YOU prepared to pay vet bills when required
- Remember Vet consultations can be around £40 and that’s before the cost of the medication is added on
- Pets can live a long time, dogs to over 15 years
