About Us
We are a registered charity (No 116194) dedicated to proving shelter and care to the lost and abandoned dogs of Merseyside.
We will have up to thirty dogs in our care at any one time, with many of them seeking their forever homes. All of our dogs are health checked by a qualified veterinarian, treated for fleas & worms, vaccinated, temperament tested, micro-chipped and insured.
We are based at Lawford’s Farm, Greensbridge Lane, Halewood, Merseyside, L35 1QH. We are open everyday of the week, 363 days a year from 12:00 - 16:00. You can contact us by phone on 0151 487 3592 or by emailing [email protected].
Each year over 3,000 lost dogs are found in Merseyside, many simply lost from a good home. Over 2,000 eventually do find their way home. Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, dog owners are responsible by law to ensure their dog has a collar & tag (with the owner’s name, address and contact details) along with an updated microchip. Providing a dog with these helps to ensure they are returned to their owner as quickly as possible if found lost.
Those lost dogs that are not claimed are then sent to rehoming centres such as ours. We take in more strays than any other rescue on Merseyside, having re-homed almost 3000 dogs since we opened our doors in 2013. We are the smallest home but work the most effectively to ensure good dogs find their forever homes.
As a registered charity, we do not receive funds from government or lottery. Our work is only possible thanks to the great kindness of those who give us donations or remember us in their wills. We are truly grateful to our supporters for their great generosity.
