Dogs ready for rehoming

New procedures

We are allowed to continue trading but visitors are not allowed into the centre. We have implemented a new adoption process, you can see it here.

Reduced number of Dogs at the centre

There are currently fewer dogs in the centre than normal. Charities like ours rely on public funding and understandably there has been a large reduction in support for all charities. The Trustees have a responsibility, reinforced by Government advice, not to take dogs into care that we do not have the resources to care for.

We have the kennel space and the skills but unfortunately not the finances to help every dog that requires it at the moment, so we are sadly only accepting a small number into the centre. Please consider helping by clicking here.

Can you offer me a home?

Hundreds of lost and abandoned dogs arrive on our doorstep every year. These dogs are anxious, afraid, in need of veterinary care and time to recover from the hardships they’ve suffered. We operate a unique recovery programme for our dogs and an open house policy for visitors. Have a look at our dogs now ready for rehoming:

Can you offer a dog a home?

With hundreds of local dogs’ lives to save every year, each in need of a loving and caring home, your help to save the life of one of these dogs is needed.

Adopting a dog is simpler and more rewarding than you may think! See how by downloading & reading our adoption booklet. Further advice on deciding if you are ready for a dog, can also be found from the Kennel Club.

The first stage to adoption is to visit us and introduce yourself to us. We operate an open house policy, i.e. you don’t require an appointment to visit us, you can view our dogs looking for homes and feed them - it really is a special place. Our centre is open between 12:00 and 16:00 every day of the week, including weekends and bank holidays.

We will inform and advise you of the dogs ready for rehoming. Before we introduce to you the dog of your choice, you will be asked to complete a short form. Should you and the dog like each other, you can reserve the dog whilst the remainder of the process is completed. This can take up to seven days.

On the day you take the dog home, we will offer you four weeks of free pet insurance with Pet Plan, complete an adoption form and a microchip form with you, so the dog’s microchip can be updated and registered to you.

Our dogs are not for sale!

You can adopt one of our dogs by giving a donation of £160 to our cause. As you are adopting a dog, this leaves an empty kennel space for a new dog to join us and your £160 donation goes towards funding the care of this new incoming dog, including a veterinary health check and vaccinations, food and shelter.

If you are unable to adopt, you can still make an immediate impact to change the life of a dog by helping to give them a chance at a new beginning through a donation of just £5 a month.
