Spare the time to help?
We run an active volunteer program and there are many different opportunities to help. You can give as little or as much time as you are able, safe in the knowledge that you are doing something to help homeless dogs. But it's not all good weather, like Eddie walking in the rain with Chant.
Commitment – You will need to be committed, reliable and dedicated. In return you will be helping to save the lives of lost dogs. Short term attendance creates us problems, please consider carefully, if you can commit for the next twelve months – we need you.
We employ the minimum number of staff needed to function and cannot give the extra loving care without your help. Volunteers are vital in keeping our center running – please consider joining our team.
Not just free help – We are not looking for just free help, all volunteers are inducted and trained, several opportunities exist for volunteers to qualify in NVQ’s
Introduction morning – Our next introduction morning is in October, Just around the corner from us at Tarbock Village Hall, Nertherly Rd, L35 1QG – see you there.
You need to decide what days of the week and what times you can commit to on a regular basis.
Please register your interest by emailing us [email protected]
We currently have voluntary opportunities available in the following areas:-
Canine socialisation and training (dog walking) - Walking dogs off site following a specific planned route / utilising on site off leash facility to exercise and train / dogs with greater needs being taken off site for longer periods further afield.
It's an amazing number of hours and a great way to help you keep in shape while helping the dogs we look after.
Event assistants - three main events planned for this year, smaller scale fundraising and profile raising events like dog barn and pets at home.
Education links - school talks - getting out into the wider community providing education to the next generation of dog owners.
Home visits - follow up checks ensuring all rehomed dogs are in a happy and suitable environment and new owners are receiving the support they need to make the adoption successful long term.
Assisting staff with basic kennel hygiene - washing bowls, maintaining cleanliness in vet room & food prep areas.

Our work is only possible thanks to the great kindness of those who give us donations or remember us in their wills. We are truly grateful to our supporters for their great generosity.
