Academy

small_Paws for Life.jpg Our Superdog academy offers courses to strengthen not only your dog but your people skills.

We are the only dogs home that can offer the accredited award, an ASDAN certificate in Canine Management, participants must have studied with us for at least thirty hours of with hands on experience to qualify.

Apart from our usual programmes, this summer we are offering ten exciting places to any one over sixteen years old to join us at the centre, attendance will be required at four of the five weekends over summer, each Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm.

Delivered by Kennel Club accredited trainers this is a fantastic opportunity to see how rescues centres work and increase your knowledge and understanding of dogs, gaining a certificate worth three nationally recognised training credits.

The course commences with the physical and metal heath needs of unwanted dogs and how they are assessed. Then as studies progress we see how dogs learn, our responsibility as guardians, emotional awareness, communication, classical conditioning, reward training and play. Moving on to how we can shape a dog’s behaviour and ensuring they have a brighter future.

We are asking for a £180 donation per delegate to help fund the work we do.

For those interested, on the 16th of June we have our introductory morning 10am to midday, where we will discuss the course and what to expect, you can sign up at midday should you wish.
